FREE Story Weaving Workshops

a black arrow pointing downward

All performers and theater makers are welcome!

Storyweaving Workshops bring storytelling traditions together with theatre and movement. This workshop will engage with youth from 18-30 (Indigenous, Native AND non-Indigenous) in a day-long process of sharing stories and creating community through artistic process.

Murielle Borst-Tarrant will facilitate the youth workshops through traditional storytelling methods by using historical memory and embodying it through sound and movement then weaving stories. Performers’ interpretation of concepts are drawn out and conceived by personifying stories through sound and movement. Bringing in the individual actor’s historical memory and historical trauma ( pain, laughter, sadness, etc.) discovering where it inhabits the body and from there where the song, dance and story comes from.

All workshops take place at the La MaMa Rehearsal Studios, 47 Great Jones Street in Manhattan. The Great Jones Rehearsal Studios are ADA compliant and accessible. Contact Murielle Borst-Tarrant at mborst1@msn.com with all questions.
