MILO CRAMER is a playwright and co-founder of New Saloon Theater Company. His play Cute Activist recently premiered at The Bushwick Starr in association with Clubbed Thumb (“a brilliant match of material and theater…a fable for our times” – Jesse Green, NYT). With New Saloon, Milo co-created MINOR CHARACTER: Six Translations of Uncle Vanya at the Same Time (“delightful… a spring-green forum on youth’s discontents” – Helen Shaw, Village Voice), presented at The Public Theater’s Under The Radar Festival, The Invisible Dog, PS122’s Catch:Coil, and The Sharon Playhouse. Milo has developed work at SoHo Rep, Ars Nova, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Mabou Mines, Musical Theater Factory, LMCC, elsewhere. MORGAN GREEN is a New York based theater director and co-founder of New Saloon (newsaloon.org). Her recent work includes the west coast premiere of The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe (Marin Theatre Company), Cute Activist by Milo Cramer (The Bushwick Starr), MINOR CHARACTER (The Public Theater), The Music Man (The Sharon Playhouse), and Far Away by Caryl Churchill (The Sharon Playhouse). She is a New Georges Affiliated Artist, an alumni of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab and Williamstown Theater Festival Directing Core, and a 2014-2015 Bob Moss Directing Resident at Playwrights Horizons. Morgan was the Associate Director for Pam Mackinnon on Amelie, a new musical on Broadway. She is the recipient of the 2016 New York Innovative Theater’s Outstanding Director Award for Six Translations of Uncle Vanya. Whether it’s plays about navigating the UK’s National Health Service or escaping an arranged marriage in India’s upperclass society, each month during our season we will present works in progress that explore universal themes set in frameworks foreign to most Americans.
