Care Café is a place for people to gather their wits, thoughts and comrades in action. The United States presidential election is upon us, and we are all trying to figure out how to breathe through this present moment, how to take care of ourselves and others, and find ways to keep connected to each other.

In the wake of the 2016 U.S. election and Brexit, the Care Café was conceived by Lois Weaver as a place – a real or virtual, public or domestic place for people to gather- their wits, thoughts and comrades in action. Continuing in this lineage, Split Britches are experimenting with offering a digital space where we can commune with others, and share feelings of togetherness and hope in the midst of the upcoming US presidential election.

There will be no specific agenda or discussion topic, and no pressure to turn up as anything other than how you are feeling. There will be an option to simply hang out at the ‘bar’, or break out into smaller groups or one-to-one conversations.

Please have something to scribble on, be that a notebook, scrap paper, the back of an envelope or a napkin, and something to make a mark with - a pencil, a pen, some coloring crayons. There will be no specific writing or drawing task, but we invite you to have these to hand and join in some gentle activity as others do the same.
