ABOUT
The Reflections of Native Voices Festival: The Feast of Ghosts continues to serve as a vital conduit for Native American storytelling, threading ancestral memory with modern artistry. This year’s centerpiece, Feasts of Ghosts, is a hauntingly beautiful affirmation of that mission. Including a spectral cabaret co-produced with New York Theater Workshop and performed by an all–Native American cast. It weaves together contemporary and classic compositions from Native American musical theater playwrights and composers, illuminating the vibrant sonic landscape that often exists outside the spotlight of mainstream recognition.
Through this powerful curation, the festival amplifies voices that have long been underrepresented, offering not just a stage but a sanctuary for creative expression rooted in resilience, identity, and cultural continuity. Feasts of Ghosts is more than performance—it is a ritual of reclamation, a celebration of spirit and song that honors both legacy and innovation.
By foregrounding Native playwrights and composers, the festival provides a blueprint for Native America–led theater initiatives that center Indigenous creativity and community. It is a living archive, an evolving canvas where tradition meets experimentation, reminding us that Native storytelling is not only alive—it is leading the way.
