“Mia M.I.A.” is a science fiction fairytale about grief, love, the role of imagination in healing, and the transformative power of embracing the shadows.
ABOUT
Mia M.I.A.” tells the incredible adventure of Ella, an earthling struggling with grief and the finality of death. After her love, Mia disappears, she is swept into an enchanted dimension of magic, space travel, and music in this lo-fi space pop, hip hop, folk opera. Along with her new companions, Ella embarks on a quest to find lost loved ones, liberation and healing.
Building on an aesthetic MRS productions have been exploring over the years, “Mia M.I.A.” embraces the interplay between actor and shadow, silhouette and song, , and puppets that can perform both behind and in front of the shadow screen. The characters wander in and out of paper-cut worlds of shadow and light, inviting the audience into a live theatrical enchantment.
