ABOUT
All the Men We Might Have Been is a full-length solo play that explores the spectrum of modern masculinity through a series of intimate character-driven monologues. Each man stands alone, yet together they form a constellation of vulnerability, regret, humor, and hope. From a pop star losing faith in art, to a queer boy begging his mother for 10 dollars, to a father and son learning how to grieve, All the Men We Might Have Been asks: who are we when the performances of manhood fall away, and who might we still become?
BIO

Michael John Improta is a Brooklyn-based actor and writer from a Puerto Rican and Italian family. He was shaped by blue-collar stories and late-night bochinche in kitchens, a mezcla of humor and heartbreak. Monologues, plays, and performances that take working-class humans seriously, even when, especially when they are breaking apart or falling behind.
A long-time ensemble member of the award-winning New York Neo-Futurists, Michael has written and premiered hundreds of short plays. As a performer and actor, with training from The Barrow Group, The BGB Studio, and The University of Connecticut, he has been seen on stages around the world.
The theatre is not just a home, but a cathedral. Michael believes strongly in the power of art as prayer. In this work, he hopes to crack himself open to reveal the small piece of divinity that resides within him, so that it may remind you of the small piece of divinity that resides within you.
This play is dedicated to the memory of Peter Loffredo.
