lim mui is a conduit, artistically in the form of a writer, actor, director, and puppeteer. They are based in Brooklyn, NY, and from Santa Fe, NM. lim is drawn to performance and story’s power to dilate consciousness; a portal to emotional healing and energetic expansion; a tether between self and other, present and past and future and present, and here and beyond here. Along with performance, lim is keen to generate community when/where possible. One meal with strangers can lighten a cloud of despair.

They are currently in process of directing their original piece, SUMMON PLAY, for Creatures, a 2-week long inhabitation of a La MaMa building, led by Erik Ehn and maura donohue. They are also working on, Technomancy, conceived by choreographer, Gry Tingskog, in which the ensemble is creating a fake astrology system based on satellites. Technomancy will premiere at K3 in Hamburg, Germany in March 2026.

In 2024 and 2023, they performed and devised Undying in Yidderland, directed by Anna Lublina, which was presented at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt, and Made Festival in Gießen, Germany. Their play, from darkness guilt, premiered with the Object Movement Festival at Center at West Park in Manhattan. lim is also a past member of AMiOS’ First Draughts Cohort, wherein they wrote and presented their full-length 2 person play, 19th street, an intergenerational erotic thriller. lim has performed throughout New York City, most recently in Sky Meets Sea created by maura donohue (Judson Church), Medea directed by Zishan Urgulu, and Maria Camia’s The Healing Shipment  (La MaMa).  Their octopine monster-godd character, O’Die, built by genius Marte Joh Ekhougen, has frequented spaces such as Dixon Place, Jalopy Theatre, Earth Chrxch, Ars Nova, and Coney Island Freak Show. They are honored to be a recent addition to La MaMa’s Great Jones Repertory Company. For lim, it is vital for a process to include a charged heart, a flare of clown wisdom, and a persistent connection to Great Mystery. lim is a proud student of The Wynn Handman Studio (acting) and Christopher Bayes (clown). They have a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch. muilim.com
