Job Description - Sound Supervisor

The Sound Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operation, planning, oversight and maintenance of La MaMa’s technical audio department.

General Duties:

Working with La MaMa’s technical team in support of all production activities.

Attending production meetings and communicating with the production managers, technical directors and design teams.

Hiring and scheduling audio tech crews for productions and single events, as well as training new technical crew.

Managing house inventory and maintenance/repair of all equipment.

Troubleshooting equipment in time-sensitive situations.

Facilitating equipment and expendable purchases, rentals, rental returns for La MaMa produced shows and festivals.

Understanding and helping enforce all relevant FDNY and safety codes with regards to the workplace and crew.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as theater stage technician.

A minimum of one year experience as a live mixing engineer.

Thorough knowledge installing and tuning various PA systems.

Experience in advancing and pre-production, organizing and installing rental packages.

Advanced knowledge of audio signal flow, line check, sound check and backline management.

Experience hiring and supervising audio production crews.

Experience with programming Qlab 4 for audio playback and video mapping.

Knowledge of Yamaha and Dante consoles, systems and software controls.

This is a full-time position. Salary: $46K – $52K (commensurate with experience) plus benefits
