The Raven is based on excerpts from an adaptation of Gozzi’s The Raven, the piece is composed, directed, with additional text by Ellen Stewart. Directed by Ellen Stewart – The Raven features a cast of over 25 from the Great Jones Repertory Company. The design team includes: Michael Sirotta, Heather Paauwe, Yukio Tsuji; Tim Schellenbaum – Sound Design; Set Design - Maeda Jun; and Ellen Stewart and Company applying the Choreography. It is performed in ritual theatre style with sensuous, folkloric stylized movement from diverse cultural communities, Latin American, Italian, Japanese, to name a few and an intricate vocal score by Ellen Stewart which is sung in Mandarin and English. more info

Drug-induced escapes, a holy apparition at a nightclub, and a wicked and garrulous boss – they all play major roles in the life changing experiences of Tony in B-Side & Bastardized. Joined by a colorful and diverse group of friends, Tony strives to attain his ultimate goal in life – one that is all at once daunting and scary, yet exhilarating and fulfilling. B-Side & Bastardized moves beyond the traditional confines of cabaret performance and into a mini musical that seamlessly combines an original script written by Anthony Escobar with Broadway and Off-Broadway tunes. |
