DIRECTING THE ACTOR - CREATING AN ENSEMBLE

In this workshop, Mr. Zwick will work individually and in groups with directors on projects they are interested in developing. There will be an emphasis on text analysis. He will work on specific techniques for directing actors and developing a cast into a well-integrated ensemble.

About Joel Zwick

Theatre, film and television director Joel Zwick began his career at La MaMa ETC as director of one of La MaMa’s early influential companies, La MaMa Plexus. He went on to direct off and on Broadway, in London, and regional theatres. He is Hollywood's most prolific director of episodic comedies, including Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy, Full House and dozens of others. On film he directed the highest grossing romantic comedy of all time: My Big Fat Greek Wedding, among many other films. He has taught at Yale School of Drama, Brooklyn College, Queens College, Wheaton College and University of Southern California.
