Curt Haworth

Curt Hawarth is an expatriate Californian who has lived in New York City since 1988. He holds a BA in Creative Writing from UC Santa Cruz and a MFA in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.  He has an eclectic movement background ranging from athletics to modern dance and release techniques, to yoga, contact improvisation and ballet.  His work has been shown at The Danspace Project, Symphony Space, Movement Research at the Judson Church, IFNY, Dixon Place, PS122, Metamorphosis, DanceNow, New Dance Alliance, Rockland Community College, Bennington College July Program, Philly Fringe Festival, CEC in Philadelphia, and Tanecne Divadlo in Bratislava, Slovakia. He was a Movement Research Artist in Residence in 2001-2002.  Curt performed with Lisa Race's Race Dance from 1993-2000, and toured internationally with David Dorfman Dance from 1990 to 2002, while creating over 15 original roles.  He has taught regularly at Movement Research and is on faculty at DNA (formerly Dance Space Center) in NYC. He has taught and set work as a guest artist throughout the United States and Europe and is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and on faculty at the ADF. This Spring he will premiere a new work in collaboration with his wife May 8-11 at DNA.

Ivy Baldwin

ivy Baldwin is a choreographer, performer, and director living in Brooklyn, NY.  In 1999 she founded Ivy Baldwin Dance, and since then her work has been presented by many theaters, including Dance Theater Workshop, Tanz im August in Berlin, Germany, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Dixon Place, Danspace Project, The Painted Bride/Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Williamsburg Art neXus, Movement Research at Judson Church, La MaMa, ETC. and Symphony Space’s Peter Jay Sharp and Leonard Nemoy Thalia Theaters.  Ms. Baldwin is a recipient of grants from the Puffin Foundation (‘99 & ‘01), the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation (‘99 & ‘06), and the Karen and William Tell Foundation (‘07 & ‘08).  She has been supported by numerous creative residencies’ including The Yard’s Bessie Schönberg Residency, a Sugar Salon residency, and annual residencies at Dragon’s Egg since 2004.  Ms. Baldwin has received a Bessie Schönberg/First Light Commission from DTW, a DNA Presents commission from Dance New Amsterdam, two Mondo Cane! commissions from Dixon Place, and four commissions for original student work from Barnard College, Iowa State University, North Carolina School of the Arts, and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ms. Baldwin is a featured choreographer in the 2007 educational DVD series “Downtown Dance – New York” produced by Insight Media with Barnard College and Elizabeth Zimmer.  In addition to performing in her own work, she has also enjoyed performing with Melissa Chris, Impetuous Theater Group, and Melissa Briggs among others. Ivy is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Sydney Skybetter

Sydney Skybetter is a choreographer, curator, and management consultant for performing arts organizations. After completing studies at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Columbia and New York Universities, Sydney danced with Christopher Williams, the Hudson Vagabond Puppets, and the Anna Sokolow Foundation. His company, skybetter and associates, has performed at many venues, including Dixon Place, University Settlement, and the Dance Theater Workshop, where he will share a season in July. Sydney is formerly the Executive Director of the Battleworks Dance Company, and has consulted for David Dorfman Dance, Chris Elam / Misnomer Dance Theater, and the Jerome Robbins Foundation, among others. He is a Producer with the DancenOw|NYC Festival, and Graduate Assistant in Dance History and Masters Candidate in Dance Performance and Choreography at NYU. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Gotham Arts Exchange / Zia Artists, and as the Co-Chairman of the Tisch East Alumni Council. He proudly resides in Brooklyn

Patricia Noworol

Patricia Noworol , choreographer, dancer, and teacher was born in Poland, obtained a BFA degree in Dance Performance and a Masters in Dance Education from Folkwang University in Essen, Germany. She also recently graduated with an MFA in Dance and Choreography from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In 2002, she was honored in Nordhein Westphalia/Germany with the Young Artist Award of the Ministry of Arts and Culture. In Europe, she has collaborated and performed with A. Alarcon, L. Cruz, B.L. Merki, and company members of Tanztheater Wuppertal/Pina Bausch, including M. Airaudo, L. Forster, D. Mercy, J. Sasportes and A. M. Benati. In the United States, she has worked with Deborah Jowitt, Kay Cummings, Noemie Lafrance and Curt Haworth. Her works have been presented internationally in Poland and Germany, as well as many NYC venues including: FAR Space, NYU Tisch Dance, DanceNow RAW Festival and the Gala Benefit & the performances at Dumbo Dance Festival. Patricia is the artistic director of Patricia Noworol Dance.Her new work Delirium, a full evening dance – multimedia performance will premiere May 30/31 at the Atlas Theatre, NYU Tisch Dance NYC  www.pnoworoldance.com
