March / April La MaMa E.T.C. Moves La MaMa moved to 74A East 4th Street. This new building had four stories. Two of them were devoted to theatres, the third floor was for rehearsals and the fourth floor was Ellen's apartment. The theatres were identical in size, approximately 23' x 70' x 14' high. There were dressing rooms in the rear and the theatres seated 100 people each.

August 16 Benefit for The Old Reliable Theatre July & August, La MaMa closed for vacation. On August 16 LaMaMa held a benefit for The Old Reliable Theatre. There were plays by Robert Patrick, Michelle Collison, Michael McGrinder, Tom Terefenko, Jeanine O'Reilly, William Hoffman, Elmer Klein and Josef Bush.
