An interactive performance by Uwe Mengel where the audience bids for actors performances.
German director UWE MENGEL’S interactive performances have been presented at Theater Festivals all over the world. The German newspaper “Der Tagesspiegel” called his production of 2½ Millionen inBerlin: “The best performance I have ever seen.” and “Real Time” Australia, said of his performance Lifeline in Melbourne: “A marvel of nondigital interactivity.”
His WIN WIN POWER AUCTION at Club LaMama is an interactive performance where the audience and performers make all the decisions.
Ten actors and singers are on stage, ready for the audience to bid on their performance pieces. Each performer offers a choice of three solo pieces. They range from tragedy to comedy, opera to broadway, pop to poetry.
At the door, the audience gets the value of their $15 ticket in auction chips to bid on the performances they want. Of course, the audience is free to dig into their wallets and bid with additional cash.
The lively auctioneer keeps the bids coming, creating a competitive and exciting atmosphere. Performers keep the money they make during the auction.
