New York Premiere of EPHEMERA: THE RECONCILIATION MONOLOGUES
conceived by Liza-Mare Syron (Biripi), and written by the Eora College Theatre students of Aboriginal Studies in Redfern Sydney in 2004, featuring Sonny-Dallas Law (Wakka Wakka) and directed by Kaipo Schwab (Native Hawaiian).
Ephemera is a devised production on the way in which the notion of Aboriginality is constructed in Australia. Using dance, music, images and interviews Ephemera presents the imagined, the representational and the interpretational of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous experiences of reconciliation in a theatrical context.
Syron was awarded the Phillip Parsons Prize for Performance as Researchfor Ephemera.
