Mary Ann Hedderson
This is the first time Mary Ann Hedderson has performed Go Ahead…Laugh in it’s entirety. The concept to write this one woman show for her Senior Work at Eugene Lang College, came to her when she took Creating Solo Performance taught by professor Zishan Ugurlu. At the classes’ end, a showcase of monologues that the students had written was performed at the LaMama Club, where Mary Ann “reenacted” her birth. After that class and that performance night she decided to make the piece much longer, which under the guidance of her Senior Advisor Zishan, and the direction of Anthony Guerino has now turned into Go Ahead…Laugh. Mary Ann is a Senior at Eugene Lang College. At Lang she has played one of the Chorus Girls in Big Love directed by Zishan Ugurlu, the lovable Pompey the Pimp in Measure for Measure directed by Diane Paulus, and “that other naked chick” in Operetta directed by Zishan Ugurlu. She is also apart of the Lang Theater Collective, where she has performed in the Lang One Acts and is in the upcoming America’s Next Top Candidate. Mary Ann is a native New Yorker and attended the New York City Museum School where she first fell in love with the stage, thanks to a particular English teacher Avi Kline. In high school she became a company member with Find Your Voiceä, formerly Starfish Theatreworks, led by founder and artistic director Gail-Noppe Brandon. Mary Ann would like to thank her parents for talking her out of having a “back up plan” in life and pushing her to her fullest potential, her grandmother Marie and grandfather Jerry for their unconditional love, her roommate for dealing with her intense mood swings the past few weeks, Zishan for believing and trusting in her, Anthony for his incredible comedic eye and patience, LaMaMa E.T.C. for letting her use their historical Club, and the rest of her friends and family for their ongoing love and support!
Anthony Guerino is an actor and director who has appeared in a variety of stage plays and films, including "Much Ado About Nothing", "The Complete History of America: Abridged", "Operetta", "Auschwitz Lullaby", and "Shoette for Loyalty". He has studied with the Atlantic Theater Company, Ward Studios, and the Upright Citizens Brigade.
