The Fancy Stitch Machine Listening Hour is
an hour of new work for your ears, featuring RADIO
PLAY, a live radio interview with Sasquatch written by Karinne
Keithley and performed by the inimitable Jim
Fletcher and Sibyl Kempson (of NYC Players,
ERS, etc.). Also on the evening is CANADIAN ROUNDS,
a new vocal piece composed by Keithley and sung by the Sisters of the
Fancy Stitch Machine (Katy Pyle, Sara Smith and Keithley).
Taryn Griggs dances HORN
PIPE, a pair of dances for the evening's convocation and conclusion,
and Keithley does her UKE ACT, in which she
discovers the ontological skeleton of classic rock songs (usually Zeppelin,
but this evening likely to be of Canadian authorship).
Karinne Keithley is a playwright, sound designer
and choreographer whose multidisciplinary work has been seen and heard
in New York City since 1995 at such venues as Danspace Project, The Kitchen,

palace in Brooklyn that she co-founded with Chris Yon. She performs with
David Neumann and Sara Smith, and has danced the in the past for The Metropolitan
Opera, Chris Yon, Ann Carlson, and many others. She will complete her
MFA in Playwriting from Brooklyn College in May, where she studied with
Mac Wellman. She is an Associate Artist of the Civilians, and has choreographed
many productions for Talking Band, with whom she won an OBIE in 2003.
