Baker. Directed by Liz Swados. IT'S A...MEXICAN-MORMON is a comedy that
examines what it means to be half Mexican and half Mormon. The play explores
identity, religion, ritual, and the absurd life of Elna Baker, an actual
Mexican-Mormon. Elna Baker is a recent graduate of NYU’s Tisch School
of the Arts. Elna’s recent credits include: Kaspar Hauser written
and directed by Liz Swados, and NYU’s Le Bourgeois Avant-Garde, Life’s
a Dream, and Bringing it All Back Home. Outside of NYU Elna is involved
with the Voice and Vision Theater where she co-wrote and performed a three-woman
show entitled, Fascinating Gals. Elna currently performs stand-up throughout
the city.
