Let’s Talk About Food Care Cafe- November 18

Thanksgiving is meant to be a season for giving thanks but it mostly always seems to be about the FOOD. Right now, in November 2025, there are some reasons to be grateful, even joyful- growing communities of resistance, energetic and youthful new movements, small victories and large solidarities. And yet it is still about the FOOD, not about the bounty of food on our Thanksgiving tables but about the FOOD INSECURITY across our entire country.

Please join us on November 18 for the Let’s Talk About Food Care Café where we will sit together in an atmosphere of care and think about how to nourish those around us who are hungry.

Here’s how:

-Show up from 5-7pm on 18 November

-Bring a friend or neighbor who might enjoy the company

-Bring donations for local food banks and maybe some refreshments to share

-Share ideas for Mutual Aid

Most importantly, come spend some time with some people who care.

A Care Café asks us to turn up as we are, with no specific agenda, expectation, or discussion topic, simply asking the question: How can we maintain an attitude of care in an uncaring world?

Set up like a conventional café with small tables and chairs, the Care Café acts as a temporary venue for community and conversation with some simple table activities set up within a framework of care. Just by entering the room, we acknowledge something of our own needs in the present moment and our desire to give and receive care.
